Attendance

Regular school attendance is an important factor in student success at Madison Station Elementary. We encourage families to link arms with us in this effort. Please see the Madison County Schools Student Handbook for detailed policy.  
 
Student Absence Information
 
For admittance after an absence at Madison Station Elementary, each student is required to submit an excuse.  For an absence to be considered excused, a note should be submitted with the following:
  • Date written
  • Date(s) of the absence
  • Cause of absence
  • Parent/legal guardian's name and phone number.

How do I know if my child is late?
  • Students are expected to be in their seat by the 7:30 a.m. tardy bell.
  • If your child is not welcomed by a faculty member at their car door before the bell, you must come inside to sign them in.
How do I know when to turn in an excuse?
  •      An excuse must be turned in for every full day that your child is absent from school upon return.
How can I turn in an excuse?
An excuse may be submitted by:
  • Our online excuse form
  • A written note/medical excuse can be put in your child's folder
  • An email to your child's teacher
Per our Madison County School District handbook, after 15 days of absences, a student's absence may only be excused with a medical excuse.
